You’ve received your marching orders and have to join up soon? During your military service, you’re covered under military insurance. All you have to do is send us your marching orders and we’ll suspend your current health insurance.
Suspending basic insurance
If you undertake military service for more than 60 consecutive days, you can suspend your basic insurance. This means that your insurance cover is interrupted for the duration of your military service and you don’t pay any premiums. Please note that we must receive your application no later than 8 weeks before your military service starts.
Suspending supplementary insurance
Some supplementary insurance plans can also be suspended. During this time, you pay a reduced premium of 30%.
Certain conditions have to be met in order to suspend supplementary insurance plans. Please contact us to discuss your options.
Military insurance is provided by SUVA (Swiss Accident Insurance Organisation) on behalf of the Swiss federal government. It is operated as an independent social insurance sector and governed by independent laws.
