Switzerland boasts around 65,000 kilometres of hiking paths across the country. And this isn’t just good news for veteran hiking enthusiasts – more and more young people are also taking to the trails. If you choose the right route and keep a few useful tips in mind, there’s no reason you shouldn’t take your baby and a pushchair along, too.

Hiking trail test: pushchair-friendly or not?

Not every trail is family-friendly. What hiking trails are suitable for strollers? We took a closer look at the route from Forch to Meilen to find out.

Hike: the Pfannenstiel trail

Sanitas employee Gesa Walk can confirm that hiking with a pushchair isn’t always easy. She took her son Mattis on the Pfannenstiel trail high above Lake Zurich to test the route – and really worked up a sweat.
