Sanitas maternity services – data privacy policy

1 Scope of application

This data privacy policy outlines which personal and benefits data (hereinafter: “data”) are processed in conjunction with the Sanitas maternity services (support for planning a family, pregnancy and the first months with a baby, hereinafter: “maternity services”).

2 Owner of the data collection

Owner of the data collection is Sanitas Privatversicherungen AG, Jägerstrasse 3, P.O. Box 2010, 8021 Zurich.

3 When does Sanitas collect data?

Sanitas collects data that you make available to Sanitas as well as data that is recorded automatically or manually during any contact with Sanitas. This includes in particular:

  • Signing up to the maternity services
  • Subscribing to a newsletter or other advertising
  • Contact by phone
  • Participating in competitions or prize draws
  • Participating in Sanitas market research or opinion polls

4 Which data is collected and processed by Sanitas?

Sanitas processes the following data in particular in connection with use of the maternity services: Surname and first name Sex Address Habits of use Language preferences Telephone number(s) Email address(es) Customer number Consent to receive content relating to the maternity services Consent to profile generation Due date of your unborn child Time of family planning and week of pregnancy; all types of communication with us

5 Purposes of data processing

Data is processed for the following purposes:

Customer communication

  • Provision, administration and execution of customer communication via various means of communication

Analysis of user behaviour

  • Analysis of how our services are used, e.g. type, frequency and duration of use
  • Optimisation of the Sanitas maternity services and other related communication and marketing measures by means of anonymous and group-related recording and (statistical) evaluation of past and current user behaviour as well as the analysis of user potential and user requirements
  • Combination and enhancement of the personal data collected by Sanitas with personal and non-personal data that is publicly accessible or acquired from third parties for the purpose of improving our database and analysing user behaviour

6 Forwarding of data

Sanitas can pass on your data to other companies within the Sanitas Group for the purposes set out in section 5 of this data privacy policy.

7 Third-party websites

The Sanitas maternity services and any associated communication (e.g. emails) may contain links to third-party websites. Sanitas has no influence on the information and services on third-party websites. Nor do we have any influence on how third parties handle the personal data collected on their websites. Sanitas is not responsible for complying with data privacy and other applicable laws with regard to third-party links on Sanitas websites, in Sanitas communication or in conjunction with the Sanitas maternity services.

8 Protection of your data

We have all the requisite technical and organisational precautions in place to protect your data against unauthorised access and processing. These precautions are checked regularly and adjusted in line with technological advances.

9 Changes to the data privacy policy

We reserve the right to amend or change this privacy policy at any time. If you do not agree with the changes and/or amendments, you can unsubscribe from the maternity services at any time.

10 Privacy rights

You are entitled to assert your right to data privacy at any time. You can request information on any of your data stored and processed by Sanitas. You also have the right to correct or supplement your data, object to the processing of your data or request the deletion of your data. To assert your right to data privacy and for questions on data processing or to request information, please contact the Sanitas data privacy officer by post, enclosing a copy of a valid form of ID.
