Prevention Radar Switzerland 2025
Experts agree that there’s great potential for prevention – but what do people in Switzerland think?
Key points in brief
With its “Prevention Radar Switzerland” study, the Sanitas foundation is creating a platform to drive discussion about prevention in Switzerland.
Scroll through the key findings of the new study here or download the detailed report below.
Good health is more important than living longer
People want to stay healthy in old age. Living as long as possible is less important.

Prevention is a secondary motivation
Although preventing disease plays a role in preventive behaviour, the primary focus is on fun, enjoyment and short-term objectives such as weight management.

Prevention is a personal responsibility
... but support is welcome: particularly incentives from health insurers, employers or even the state.

Representative study
The Prevention Radar is based on an online survey conducted by intervista AG on behalf of the Sanitas health insurance foundation in March 2025. It included 2,064 people between the ages of 18 and 74 from all parts of the country. The results are therefore representative of the Swiss population.
