Switzerland’s most beautiful saunas

Switzerland has some amazing saunas. For example, the rock sauna in Zuoz, the fire sauna in Rheinfelden or the herbal sauna on Lake Hallwil. Sweating it out is twice as much fun in a beautiful setting.

Rock sauna – Hotel Castell Zuoz

Leading off the hotel terrace designed by Japanese artist Kawamata, there is a rocky pool right on the Chaslatsch mountain with a small Finnish sauna in the open air with breathtaking views. The sauna can be rented exclusively for two.

Largest sauna world – Aquabasilea in Pratteln

It is the largest and most diverse water world in Switzerland. Sauna fans really get their money’s worth at Aquabasilea in Pratteln near Basel. It offers an incredible twelve saunas and steam rooms, including an outdoor sauna exclusively for women.

Salt tower sauna – Bad Zurzach

Spanning three floors, the exclusive sauna landscape is located in a salt tower(!) and offers a sauna with salt peeling room as well as a panorama and roof sauna. There’s also a steam room. An outdoor deck with cold water and natural swimming pools provides space for cooling down.

Private sauna at Zürichberg – Sorell Hotel Rigiblick

The hotel has two 70m² spa suites with sauna, free-standing whirlpool and multifunctional shower with steam room for exclusive relaxation over the rooftops of Zurich.

Earth and fire sauna – Parkresort Rheinfelden

Here you’ll find a wide range of saunas, including a Finnish earth or fire sauna with real flames plus a Siberian sauna, which is the perfect complement to the spa facilities.

African themed sauna – Deltapark Vitalresort, Thun

In distinctive glass tent houses directly on Lake Thun, the spa facility offers a number of themed areas such as “Asian Lagoon”, “Swiss Chalet” or “African Lodge”. In the African Lodge private spa suite, there is a sauna and steam room as well as an exclusive couple’s bath with a view of the lake.

Sauna with park view – Bad Schinznach

During a recent five-month renovation, the facilities of the Aquarena Sauna were expanded and modernised. In addition to three new saunas on two floors, an outdoor sauna with panorama windows offers an incredible view of the entire park.

Thai herbal and temple sauna – Seerose Hallwilersee

In the hotel’s Cocon Thai Spa, a Thai herbal sauna and temple sauna have been reproduced based on the Far Eastern concept. This is reflected in the decorations, smells and sounds.
