Understanding reclaim vouchers and how to submit them

Healthcare providers such as doctors and hospitals charge for their services using a standard reclaim voucher. Find out all the important facts here at a glance. You’ll also find out how invoices can be submitted to Sanitas for reimbursement.

How to read and understand reclaim vouchers

You don’t need to worry about whether the tariff has been applied correctly or whether the price is right: that’s the job of Sanitas specialists. However, you should always check the following points:

  1. Reclaim voucher: Which document should I send to Sanitas?
  2. Reason for treatment: Why did you go to a doctor or hospital?
  3. Date: When and how often did you visit the doctor or hospital or talk to them on the phone? (This also includes laboratory clarifications, getting medication, etc.)
  4. Medication: Which medications were prescribed to you for use at home?

We now offer help with checking your invoices using our translation function. The new function in the Sanitas Portal app translates the tariff items of doctors, pharmacies and therapists into a form you can understand and shows you exactly which benefits you have to pay for.

Sending in reclaim vouchers electronically

If you receive an invoice or prescription electronically, you can upload it as a file and send it in. Did you receive your invoice or prescription by post? No problem. Simply scan it using your smartphone.

Upload document

  1. Log in to the Sanitas Portal.
  2. Click on the camera icon in the menu at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Upload your reclaim voucher or prescription.
  4. Check the quality of the scan. You can make any changes necessary.
  5. Send and you’re finished!

Scan document

  1. Click on the camera icon in the menu at the bottom of the app screen and then "Take photo".
  2. Take a photo of your reclaim voucher and you’re done!
  3. If everything worked, the status changes to ”Received”.

Of course, you can also send in your documents by post. Are you looking for the right address to send in your reclaim vouchers to Sanitas?
