Why take out cat insurance?

Our cat insurance protects you from high costs. And it provides your feline friend with comprehensive healthcare: from acupuncture to dental care. Make treatment decisions based on your cat’s well-being, not on your bank balance.

  • Poisoning: CHF 1,400

Simba licked a house plant. Shortly afterwards, he suffered severe vomiting and ended up at the vet’s. After having his stomach pumped, receiving IV fluids and being monitored in intensive care, Simba made a full recovery. Pet insurance covered the costs.

  • Car accident: CHF 6,900

After Felix was hit by a car, he came home bleeding. At the vet’s, he was diagnosed with several broken bones and internal bleeding. Pet insurance covered most of the costs for the extensive initial treatment, surgery and medicines.

  • Asthma: CHF 3,500

Lila often coughed and had difficulty breathing. The vet diagnosed asthma, a chronic condition. Lila needs regular medication and check-ups. In the first year, the costs for diagnostic tests and medicines came to CHF 3,500. Fortunately, she has insurance.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I take out insurance even if my cat has a pre-existing health condition?

Yes, that’s generally possible. It depends primarily on the type of illness and how severely it affects your pet’s health. To make everything as transparent as possible, we ask you some health questions about your cat before the insurance policy is finalised. Based on this information, we can determine whether insurance cover is available. The good news for you: Once you’ve taken out cat insurance, you can rely on our coverage – without any restrictions.

  • Is there a waiting period for cat insurance?

Yes, there is a waiting period for cat insurance. Accidents and illnesses are covered 14 days after commencement of insurance.
