Team captain

Clear, consistent and reliable: You guide your dog through clear rules and routines. For you, training is an essential part of responsible dog ownership. This way, your dog knows he can rely on you, even in challenging situations. Sometimes, however, giving him a little more freedom can help meet his individual needs.

Big-hearted dog lover

Empathetic, affectionate and caring: Your dog is a much-loved member of the family. You pay close attention to his feelings and want to make sure he has everything he needs. Closeness and trust are among your greatest strengths. The challenge: Sometimes love also means setting clear boundaries and remaining consistent.

Adventure buddy

Active, spontaneous and always ready for the next experience: You are happiest when you and your dog are out and about together. Walks, trips, games and new experiences are all part of everyday life. In doing so, you provide plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation. Just remember to schedule time for rest and routine, too.

Dog whisperer

Observant, adaptable and eager to learn: You watch your dog closely and try to understand what lies behind his behaviour. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, you adapt training, activities and daily life to suit your dog. Sometimes, though, the search for the perfect solution can become more complicated than it needs to be.

Please note: The dog owner self-test isn’t a knowledge test and doesn’t assess whether someone is suitable to own a dog. It offers a light-hearted look at what makes the relationship between people and dogs special – and where both could work even better as a team. There are no right or wrong answers, and no “pass” or “fail”.
