CallMed is the telemedicine model for basic insurance. You always contact Medgate first when you need medical advice. Your Medgate doctor advises you and recommends a course of treatment. For any follow-up treatment, you can choose the doctor or specialist yourself.

Step by step: how CallMed works

  1. Book a consultation in the Sanitas Medgate app or give the Medgate patient reception a call: 0844 111 365
  2. A Medgate doctor will call you at the chosen time.
  3. The doctor will provide advice on the phone or by video link and draw up a personal treatment plan with you.
  4. Your Medgate doctor will send medical prescriptions to a pharmacy of your choice.
  5. Following the consultation, you receive your digital treatment plan directly in the app or by email.
  6. If you want to change the treatment plan, you simply have to contact Medgate again. Or you can make the changes directly in the Sanitas Medgate app.
  7. The Medgate hotline is open around the clock in case of emergency. You’ll be put in touch with a doctor immediately.

Anyone who is resident in Switzerland is obliged by law to have basic health insurance in order to ensure basic medical care for all. All health insurers cover the same benefits under basic insurance.

If further treatment is required, you choose which doctor or specialist to visit. It’s important that you update Medgate on the status of your treatment. This helps us to save costs. In return you get a discount on your premium.

You don’t have to contact Medgate in the following cases
